Our Costs Lawyer and cycling enthusiast, Mike Fitsell, is looking forward to his next charity sportive this September.
Mike has signed up for the 85-miler course in Ride for Willen, which takes place on Sunday 1st September.
The picturesque ride offers a choice of four routes; 85, 64, 40 and a new Family 5-mile route, each starting at Mitchell Hall at Cranfield University.
Mike is hoping to raise lots of money for Milton Keynes charity, Willen Hospice, who provide constant adult residential care from a beautiful lake side setting, as well as support at home.
He said of the challenge;
“Willen Hospice is a long-established charity in Milton Keynes which provides free care and support for all people affected by life limiting illness. This is hugely important not only to the patients they care for but also to the family and friends of those patients.
The Hospice arranges numerous fundraising challenges throughout the year to enable them to continue with their work and this includes their annual sportive bike ride, Ride for Willen.
To be able to raise money for such a worthy cause and at the same time to be out and about on my bike, which is one of my favourite pastimes, made this a very easy decision for me to make”.
Mike is no stranger to big cycle challenges, having already competed in the BCG Sportive – cycling 75 miles to raise funds for the Spinal Injuries Association (SIA) and MK Snap.
Last year Mike cycled 50 miles in the Milton Keynes Bike Ride for the British Heart Foundation.
And in 2016, he successfully completed the London-Surrey 100-mile cycle challenge to raise funds for the British Lung Foundation.

We would all like to wish Mike the very best of luck in this challenge. ?
