It is no big secret that here, at Osborne Morris & Morgan, community support and charity work is very important to us. We’re proud to support the many local organisations and initiatives which help to improve the lives of people within our community of Leighton Buzzard, throughout Bedfordshire and beyond.
Here are just some that we work closely with…
Harry’s Rainbow
Members of staff
at Osborne Morris & Morgan often help to raise funds for local
charity, Harry’s Rainbow. The charity works tirelessly to support families in
the Milton Keynes and surrounding areas, who have lost a significant loved one,
such as a parent or a sibling.
They do this by providing resources, group activities, trips and
family outings and access to their monthly Rainbow group.
We stand with the charity in believing that families should not
have to pay to support their grieving children, particularly when they are also
grieving for their partner or child.
We are proud to
support KidsOut – a charity that delivers a
range of services to disadvantaged children.
These are children who are the most vulnerable, have been
abused, find themselves living in refuges, have suffered a serious injury and
are disabled. KidsOut aims to give those children positive experiences to
support them becoming future members of our society and workforce.
These services include “A Big Day Out”, which takes place every
June and involves taking 25,000 disadvantaged children out for a day. This
creates a lasting memory for those children who have never had the opportunity
to, for example, visit the seaside, or a theme park. The charity also provides
a Toy Box service whereby children are provided with a box of brand new toys,
when they find themselves relocated. This helps bring stability and fun into
the children’s lives, when they need it the most.
KidsOut also organise “Fun Days” in which children are taken out
to local attractions and they also fund “Phyzzpod”. This is a cost-effective
sensory environment which helps stimulate imaginations, develop speech and
expressive skills in those children that through their experiences, have not
been able to develop adequately.
We are pleased to
support our local choir with a £1,000 sponsorship donation.
Music fan and Managing Partner at OM&M, Tim Woolford, said; “OM&M is delighted to
support the talented singers who dedicate their time to rehearse and perform
for our local community. We’re lucky to have a group such as this in the town
and we wish them every success in their up and coming events”.
The Leighton Buzzard Festival Singers was formed in 1951 – the year of the Festival of Britain. The group consists of 60 singers, who rehearse every Monday evening at Clipstone Brook Lower School in Leighton Buzzard. The group usually perform two concerts each year in Leighton Buzzard and also perform at summer fetes, dinners and weddings.
We have joined
forces and partnered with the Rotary Club of Leighton Linslade to help deliver
projects as part of the ‘Yes We Can’ program.
A donation of £1,000 has recently been given to help fund some
of the planned sports days and are working closely to promote the overall
initiative and all of it’s projects.
The ‘Yes We Can’ program was founded in 2017 by Rotary Club
member, Richard Johnson OBE, after he noticed a distinct lack of sports
activities for the disabled in the local community.
Today, the initiative is supported by other organisations, including Leighton Buzzard Mencap and the Families United Network, to bring affordable and sustainable sporting opportunities to those with a disability.
We have recently won the 2023 ‘Yes We Can’ Special Recognition Award.
We are proud sponsors of Leighton Town Football Club for this 2024/25 season.
Like Leighton Town Football Club, the OM&M team are
passionate about supporting organisations who share the same focus – on making a difference.
Paul Lockhart, OM&M Finance Director , explains, “We believe it’s very important to support our local community and what better way than to sponsor our town’s football club so that they can achieve their goals, of which include; upgrading their facilities, achieve promotion and reconnecting with the youth.
OM&M are proud of this new partnership and we wish the team
all the best for the season.”
Leighton Town Football Club is a family friendly members Club, whose home is located at Bell Close, Leighton Buzzard. The club is affiliated to the Bedfordshire FA and currently play in the Pitching In Southern League Division One Central.
Our partnership
with Willen Hospice goes beyond Business Club Corporate Membership- we also
take the opportunity to fund raise for the local hospice within the community
at events and raise awareness through our marketing campaigns.
Willen Hospice are a registered charity that provides specialist
palliative care in Milton Keynes and the surrounding areas.
An estimated 850,000 people in the UK currently live with dementia, a figure that is set to grow rapidly over the next several decades due to the increase of life expectancy. Latest predictions tell us that a startling 1 in 3 born in the UK this year will develop dementia in their lifetime.
At Osborne Morris & Morgan, we are recognised as Dementia Friends after learning about the condition and how we can help those affected.
Transitions UK is a local charity that supports vulnerable young people aged 12 – 25 years who are struggling with personal disadvantages. Young people who have learning disabilities and special needs; those with emotional and mental health issues; those leaving care; and those at risk of offending or criminal exploitation.
Here at Osborne Morris & Morgan, we are committed to supporting Transitions UK in their invaluable work.
Other types of support
In addition to the
above charities, we also support our local schools by advertising in their
magazines, offering work experience and sponsoring local events.
