Osborne Morris & Morgan solicitors recognised at regional awards
Two members of staff at local solicitors, Osborne Morris & Morgan, were recognised as finalists at the Bedfordshire Business Women Awards 2018.
Associate Legal Executive, Jemma Wixted and Head of Conveyancing, solicitor, Laura Everitt, were both nominated as finalists ahead of the awards ceremony, which took place at The Park Inn, Bedford on Friday 9th March.
Jemma Wixted, an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives, was named as a nominee within the Silver Heart Award category. This award recognises those who always go the extra mile, acting above and beyond the call of duty.
Jemma’s infectious personality and calm attitude contributes towards the positive working environment at OM&M. The nature of her work can be stressful and fast paced at times, but this is not reflected in the quality of work that she delivers and the many testimonials received from her clients.
Jemma is currently working hard towards her Conveyancing Level 6 ILEX qualification- having already passed the required 8 hours to 20 hours of work.
Outside of work, Jemma spends her weekends volunteering for the Flitwick & Ampthill Sea Cadets as a member of staff. This involves teaching and running training programmes and helping to organise fundraising events for the 60 cadets aged 10-17.
Jemma said of the event;
“The evening was a wonderful opportunity to appreciate women of Bedfordshire for their dedication and commitment to the businesses in the local community”.
Laura Everitt, who is a solicitor and Head of Conveyancing, achieved runner up place in the Female Employee of the Year Award. This award recognises those who stand out in their performance and have made a positive contribution to the success of their department or organisation.
Laura has been with OM&M for 18 months and during this time the Conveyancing department has grown from one member of staff to a three-member strong team.
The two new additions, Jemma and Melissa have been nurtured and inspired by Laura, who dedicates her time to develop their skills to achieve excellence.
Laura also works within the Trusts team and has recently successfully passed her STEP Administration of Trusts exam. This will add to her knowledge base, further benefiting her clients.
Outside of work, (and when she isn’t busy being a mum of two children), Laura often trains and raises money for charity, to compete in running marathons and other local events.
