OM&M are proud participants of the Peace Marathon
We are proud to be supporting Leighton-Linslade Rotary Club by taking part in the Rotary Marathon for Peace on August 15, in commemoration of the 75th Anniversary of VJ Day.
The special event has been organised within current government guidelines, by Rotary Club of Leighton-Linslade to recognise the end of World War Two.
Runners or walkers will carry a scroll containing the names of those from the area who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Our very own Alison March from our Conveyancing team will be running in the marathon relay on behalf of OM&M.
Alison, who is looking forward to the event, says;
“I’m excited to be taking part in the Peace Marathon as it’s such a great cause and way to remember our soldiers. I hope to help raise as many donations as possible.”
The relay will leave a town centre location in Leighton Buzzard after the playing of the Last Post at 11 am and finish at the War Memorial at 8pm with the names of the fallen being read and the playing of Sunset at 20:08.
Each relay leg will be 2,194 yards, acknowledging across time the 2,194 days that World War Two lasted.
Our leg of the race will be starting at around 1pm from the Cod & Waffle in Theedway and finishing at the Clay Furlong Roundabout, running a distance of approximately 1.8 km.
