Yes We Can celebrate success at the Oscars

Leighton Buzzard disability sports program, Yes We Can (YWC), recognised all of their participants in their very own Oscars ceremony in February.
The Yes We Can program, which is run by the Rotary Club of Leighton Linslade, invited over 120 participants, their parents, carers and guests to come together and enjoy a celebration of the past year.
Each participant received a medal and ‘Players of the Year’ were nominated in each sport category, with trophies presented by a variety of guests including MK Dons Legend and Community Ambassador, Dean Bowditch, Invictus Games Medalist, Daniel Bingley, Town Mayor Councillor Dave Bowater and Rotary District Governor Mary Whitehead.
The event took place on February 16th at Astral Park, Leighton Buzzard.
Richard Johnson OBE of the Rotary Club of Leighton Linslade said of the event;
“Two years into our Yes We Can program, our first YWC Oscars was a great occasion and this was only possible thanks to the superb support from Osborne Morris & Morgan solicitors. We are delighted that Osborne Morris & Morgan have committed to supporting YWC this 2020 and look forward to being able to announce some exciting news in the weeks to come”.
Osborne Morris & Morgan were very proud to sponsor the event and have already committed to supporting the Oscars again, in 2021.
Practice Manager at Osborne Morris & Morgan, Paul Lockhart, who attended the event with his family, said;
“The evening was a great success! I was honoured to attend and present the medals alongside my daughter, Amber, to all of the young participants. Here at Osborne Morris & Morgan, disability or no disability, we believe everyone should be given an opportunity to do sport and this is why we are proud to continue to support the Leighton Linslade Rotary Club and support this amazing cause”.
