The Claim
In 2006, the client was just four years old and days away from starting primary school when the car they were travelling in with their mother was struck from behind by a speeding Belgian lorry. Investigations by OMM and the police established that the driver had failed to take proper rest breaks and had likely fallen asleep or lost concentration at the wheel. Tragically, the client’s mother was killed, while the client was ejected from the vehicle, sustaining life-changing injuries. The driver was later imprisoned for driving offences, and OMM secured a six-figure sum in compensation on behalf of the mother’s estate.
