Lashings Blast for OM&M
Team members from Osborne Morris & Morgan enjoyed a great day out as Eversholt Cricket Club hosted the world-famous Lashings World XI for the sixth time, as they played Eversholt First XI.
The event took place on 3rd August and presented a fantastic opportunity for players, officials and supporters alike to play host to a team of past International players including Gordon Greenidge, Wasim Jaffer and Monty Panesar with commentary from the legendary Henry Blofeld.
The day also provided fun for all the family, with a jam-packed programme that included junior coaching in the morning, followed by county disability matches and finishing off with the main event- Eversholt vs Lashings T20.
Osborne Morris and Morgan launched a competition on social media to giveaway two places for the junior coaching session.
The lucky recipients were seven-year-old Etienne Ort and his brother, nine-year-old, Gabriel Ort, after their mother, Caroline, entered them into the Facebook competition.
Caroline, who thought The Lashings coaching session brought a real buzz to Eversholt, said;
“The international players brought such enthusiasm to all the children who attended.
They engaged with every age group from youngest to eldest and inspired the young cricketers.
It was really special to watch both my children learn new skills and techniques from the players and we loved reading through the Lashings programme that afternoon, studying the biographies of coaches they had been taught by”.
Her son, Gabriel said of his training session; “It was a really fun day and we felt so lucky to experience what it’s like to play with the international cricketers who were all very inspiring”.
Senior partner and Head of Medical Negligence, David Turner, who also attended the event, said:
“We had a great day out the office at what is regarded as one of the most picturesque cricket grounds in the country and mingling with the Lashings players.
We were also very proud to support the day as event partner, to help the club raise the profile of cricket in the local area and raise much needed funds in the development of club facilities.
We would like to thank Eversholt Cricket Club for the opportunity and for having us!”.
