A Day in the Life of a legal Business Support Assistant.
Amy Leotta shares with us her day, working for Law Firm Osborne Morris and Morgan, in Business Support.
Amy joined the firm in August 2019 after the lockdowns brought on from the pandemic. She currently works as Business Support Assistant, helping across the firm’s legal services.
8:30 – I start the day with a large cup of coffee after feeding my cat Lola. I then have breakfast and organise my lunch and documents for the day before I get ready to head to the office.
9:00 – My day begins at the office where firstly I comb through several of the firms’ inboxes and prioritise my work for the day.
10:00– I call back any clients or businesses who have contacted the firm overnight via the website etc.
12:00 – Lunchtime for me, I will usually relax in the office kitchen or if the weather is nice I will head to the local park for some fresh air.
13:00 – I return from lunch and respond to any incoming enquiries and prioritise the tasks required.
14:00 – I organise paper work for the fee earners client appointments for the following days and update our system to reflect new file updates.
15:30 – I carry out a client appointment with a fee earner where I witness a document signature and organise payment of invoices with the client.
16:30 – I ensure all outgoing post is enveloped and franked before taking it to the Post Office.
17:00 – After ensuring all tasks for the day have been completed, I review my emails to make a plan of tasks to complete the following day.
