Choosing your solicitor wisely
It is vital that regulated solicitors and law firms follow Principles and a strict Code of Conduct set by the SRA, to ensure they operate with integrity in the interests of their clients and in the wide public interest. In this blog, we highlight the importance of choosing your solicitor wisely.
By working to protect the general public, the SRA also closely supervise those whom they regulate and can take enforcement action if needed.
When choosing a solicitor, checking if a firm is regulated by the SRA is a great place to start. There are also many voluntary accreditation schemes that individuals or firms can join, which can tell you a lot about the service you are likely to experience.
At Osborne Morris & Morgan, we are not only authorised and regulated by the SRA, but we also hold current, top excellence accolades obtained through such schemes.
One of these is Lexcel – the accreditation scheme run by the Law Society, the professional body for solicitors in England and Wales. For 21 years, we have achieved this voluntary, quality standard through independent, rigorous application and assessment.
Our Conveyancing team are also proud to continuously demonstrate that they follow best practice by retaining The Law Society’s Conveyancing Quality Scheme Mark, year on year.
The team have proven that they meet the standards of technical knowledge and client service, and have all the skills and expertise to provide residential conveyancing services to the highest standard.
As well as accreditation schemes, OM&M have received top recognition from the national charity and panel AvMA and has won regional business awards.
Practice Director, Sarah Winters says;
“Providing quality legal services is extremely important to us, which is why we devote our personal attention to our clients. We take the time to ensure that we fully understand the position they are in – just one of the reasons why we hold many long-standing relationships with our clients.”
We are delighted that our service excellence and practice management is recognised through all of the various accreditations and awards we hold, and we will continue to develop our skills to be the best solicitors that we can be.”
