How much time will you provide free in order to assess my case? |

OMM will explain, by a
visit if you so wish, how your claim will be handled and
how it will be funded. We will complete all of the necessary
documentation for Public Funding free of charge. This initial
interview is entirely free and without obligation.

Does your firm have a clinical negligence franchise from the Legal Services Commission? |

Solicitors need to be on either AvMA’s
or the Law Society’s
clinical negligence panel to qualify for a franchise for public
funding (legal aid).
OMM was awarded a clinical negligence franchise
as soon as the Legal Services Commission set up the franchise
scheme, and has continued to hold a franchise ever since.
The LSC itself has referred cases to us which have been incorrectly
handled by other firms.

Which solicitor within the firm will have responsibility for my case? Is he/she a member of AvMA’s specialist panel? |

Either David Turner or Gary Williams will
conduct your case. Both are members of the Law Society’s
Clinical Negligence panel and David Turner is a member
of the AvMA panel. Both are partners and have a wide experience
of litigating complex clinical negligence claims. Your
case will be dealt with by either David or Gary throughout
and will not be delegated to less senior members of staff.

How much experience does he/she have of my particular type of case? How many clinical negligence cases has he dealt with? |

David and Gary work exclusively on Climical
Negligence cases…they do not divide their time between
Clinical Negligence cases and other Personal Injury cases,
such as road traffic accidents. Their case loads are managed
to ensure that each case receives the attention it deserves.
David has practised exclusively in this field for 13 years
and Gary for six years. Whilst both David and Gary have
wide experience in many types of clinical negligence claims,
they specialise in cerebral palsy claims and will typically
be investigating around 40 such claims between them at
any given time. David and Gary are also experienced in
handling cases involving adults who have suffered severe
brain damage.

How guaranteed am I that I will be able to speak to this solicitor? How much of the work is delegated to other, more junior solicitors? |

You are absolutely guaranteed to be able
to speak with the solicitor with conduct of your case from
the start to its conclusion. OMM consider it imperative that
you should be fully informed of the steps being taken in your
case and why those steps are being taken. You will be advised
of the issues which arise in your case and will be given every
opportunity to discuss your case with the Partner dealing
with it, either in person, by telephone or by email.
